We here at News & Notes realize that many incoming freshmen (and potentially upperclassmen!) may be unfamiliar with who we are and what we do. This is a shame because, as we say in our mission statement, we're here to "bring you an inside look at Honors life here at Ball State." Basically our job is to keep you up to date on Honors events and activities, and also to introduce you to some of the cool students and faculty members from the Honors College. We want this online, student-run newsletter to showcase all the best wild and wonderful things that Honors College people are doing.
In an effort to present a more broad range of perspectives on the Honors experience, we're going to try something new this year. News & Notes is asking each and every Honors student to submit writing for potential publication on the Notes section of this website. Are you working on a fascinating thesis project? Has an Honors fellowship allowed you to do research you're passionate about? Has an Honors class completely changed your life? We want you to write your story! Tell us what Honors means to and for you.
That is our focus for this year: an exploration of what Honors means. We want to know how members of the Honors College perceive their membership. What makes an Honors student? What qualities are important? What experiences define Honors? We want to delve into the diverse experiences of Honors and hear the diverse range of Honors opinions.
